I meant to tell you the story of the fence today, I really did. But it’s not over yet, so it’ll have to wait.
In the meantime, just to give you an idea:
Number of days the fence was supposed to take: 1, or possibly 1.5
Number of days they’ve been working on the fence SO FAR: 4 (and counting!)
As I often say to my long-suffering husband: If I wrote it out and called it fiction, I would be accused of being ridiculous and unbelievable. But, you know, it actually happens this way. TO ME. Of course.
So while we wait for the fence saga to reach its conclusion (what will it be? A completed fence or a nervous breakdown? I CAN HARDLY WAIT!), instead let’s talk about the end of innocence, via “dirty” books. Today at Off Our Chests I’m talking about the book that signaled the end of my childhood, and I bet you have a similar story to share, too. C’mon over.
Do not pink sock us, Mir!
I had a feeling it was going to be Valley of the Dolls. I remember that book, too! Was I at one of your sleepovers? lol
I can’t wait to know the end of the fence saga…..
I definitely remember being intrigued by certain scenes in Clan of the Cave Bear at about the age of 14.
I’m 39 and have never read Clan of the Cave Bear… sounds like an interesting read.
As long as you warned Otto when you married him that these things happened to you, I think that’s as far as your own liability goes. ;)
I told my husband that one of my nicknames is Jinx, because strange things just tend to happen to me (if it can go wrong, no matter how odd the reason, it will go wrong if I’m around). What’s even funnier is I am going back to get a second degree, and I was telling a new friend of mine that my nickname is Jinx (after, of course, something happened). She laughed and said her nickname was Murphy’s Law. We understood that it would be dangerous, but we still hung out together…
Darn contractors. There’s probably some excuse, too – you found a graveyard underneath the fence area, perhaps, and the investigators are still examining it.
Perhaps you can right a salacious coming-of-age novel about the fence ;)
Not to cause you undo suffering but keep in mind the actual math on this could go as follows
1 to 1.5 days in reality could equal 2.5 days
or if you are suffering from “new math”
1 to 1.5 days actually equals 16 days as in 1 plus 15 equals 16 (who says I failed new math?)
I suggest taking two margaritas and going on vacation.
My pool was started on March 19th. We were told it would take one month…
It’s still not done. I totally understand… Go with the margaritas and the vacation…
