Even more controversial than MOMMYBLOGGER

Whatever you do, don’t call yourself a MomWriter(TM) unless you have the fundage to back it up!

Please read Joshilyn’s excellent assessment of the imminent death of the MomWriters(TM) Yahoo! Group, particularly if you’ve ever been or were considering becoming a member.

In the midst of the half-a-dozen other ways in which my life was blowing up yesterday, I couldn’t organize my thoughts over this particular issue in any meaningful way, so I’ll leave you to Joss’ take on it, and add only: It sucks.

Usually I love to watch online groups explode like this (used to be a big forum reader/poster) but now…

I’m sorry Mir, I hope the fall out from everything isn’t too bad.

It’s truly sad to see the list go kaboom. I’ve already left the list, since I can’t afford to pay the fees, don’t think I should have to, and refuse to ask for “charity” in being allowed to remain. I’m just thankful so many of the members and ex-members have blogs, so I can keep up.

Oh, Mir, the whole thing made me sick to my stomach. There was so much about that group that was so good.

    My take: Blog Entry

I don’t think I’ve linked your blog to mine yet, so I’m going to go do that now. Have a great day!

This whole thing happening crushed me. That group was amazing. But this is a Yahoo group. Paying? So we don’t use that name. Old group. New name. Same support. Just my two cents (but not $5, though.)

    Amen, sister.

You’ve made a lot of great points in her comment box, regardless :)

I’m adding an amen. I’ve also added my thoughts and a track back, but mainly I’m just adding my name to this and saying that it sucks.
I’m sad by all of this, in ways I can’t express, and a couple that I did I suppose.
    Its just…wierd I suppose.
