Ladies and gentlemen: At the tender age of five-and-three-quarters, my son just enjoyed his very first (“may contain traces of peanuts”) Ding Dong. His comment, when I asked him how it was? “MMMMMMMMM!!!”
Party at my place, tonight. Nutter butters all around! Oh, but not for Puppy. Though Monkey swears his new collar says he’s allergic to doctors’ offices.
Today, my friends, is a Very Good Day indeed.
Welcome to the world of peanut butter and raisins on celery, Monkey. Otherwise known as Ants on a Log.
Wow, this IS a very great day!!! I’m so happy for Monkey that I’m going to eat a Funny Bone in his honor (still haven’t located Nutty Buddies).
Puppy looks adorable with his new collar. Does Monkey have a replacement for his beloved bracelet?
Congrats! I’m sure you’re breathing easier today, knowing that peanuts are no longer deadly little missives of terror.
WOOT!!! That’s great news. Go out and buy the largest amount of Nutter Butters you can (I am all kinds of about the sandwich variety myself).
Great job Monkey!!! You owned that test and you won!!!
I totally understand how terrifying that had to be for you. My 7 year old was diagnosed earlier this year with a peanut (and tree nut – don’t forget those!) allergy. We suspected for a long time, so were careful what she ingested.
How bad does it sound if I say I mourned a little that I might never be able to share my frozen peanut butter cups with her?
I’m glad to hear things went well.
HORAYYYYY! Have a Reeses’ cup on me! (I just put a dollar in the slot in the front of my computer. let me know if it doesn’t get there.)
How’s the groinal node? Still doing your Gabby Hayes imitation?
Congratulations, Monkey!
Weirdly, my dog really does hate peanut butter.
YAHOO! I’ve done the milk allergy thing (soy whipped cream, soy ice cream, soy cheese, soy hot dogs (YES! They make them!)Soy based chocolate, etc… bleah) and mine did grow out of it too, thank goodness! I know what you feel like! WHAT a relief! Make that boy a fluffer nutter sandwich to celebrate. His eyes will roll back into his head with the pleasure of it all. (On second thought that might be kind of scary – how about just a peanut butter cup for dessert?)
Oh, a whole world of prepackaged food options just opened to sweet Monkey!
Congratulations. I’m a little misty-eyed.
As someone whose son goes nowhere without his trusty epipen, I can truly appreciate the relief you are feeling. My son has multiple allergies, but the worst is to latex, caused by abdominal surgery, and it’s a complete pain, because it’s in soooooo many things. Hate it, hate it, hate it. Well done Monkey, peanut butter cookies all round!!
Ding Dongs and Pop Tarts. He has now doubled his menu selections!!! Congrats again, I’m really thrilled for you (and LOVE puppy’s new collar).
Good for Monkey! Glad to hear everything turned out okay.
Oh, we can breathe again! I’m so glad nothing bad happened! Yeah, now the food police don’t have to be so careful, which is wonderful, but Monkey’s OK!!!
Hug your adorable Monkey for all of us, Mir, please! Oh, and I second the above question… What’s his new bracelet going to be?
*Celebratory dancing about* Woot! Good job, Monkey! Oh, the chocolatey goodness that awaits you! May I humbly suggest a trip to Dairy Queen? Don’t forget to get Mom a treat, too – she deserves one after this little bout with parental stress. Congrats! Although I think it’s safe to say that introduction to the world of peanuts probably won’t improve his appetite for chicken and vegetables very much. Ah, well. Can’t have everything! ;)
Yippee!!! A round of Chubby Hubby for everyone!
Congrats, that is fantastic news. Let that boy have a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup!
Oh, that is just about the most exciting news I’ve heard today — and just in time for trick-or-treating! Peanut butter is a good thing. Pete subsists almost entirely on fluffernutters; we’ve had to make a rule that he’s allowed only one per day.
Hooray! May he enjoy peanut butter sammiches very soon!
Yay yay yay! Peanut M&M’s all around!
Yaaaayyyy!!! GREAT news!!
New weekend activity: baking peanutbutter cookies?
All riiiiiiiiiiiight, Monkey!
woohoo! peanut dust for everyone. As the actress-guest-taster would titter on Iron Chef, “It tastes like butterflies in my mouth!” :fluttering hands to face:
Choosy mom’s choose JIF!!!
YAY Monkey!!
Congrats! So has he had his bath yet?
Make sure you get him some Nutty Buttys tomorrow. It’s like a kid loose in a candy store (or at least the candy with peanuts/peanut butter aisle).
Congrats… when Monkey is ready, (like maybe now) you can introduce him to my favorite treat, Ring Dings and a Yoohoo… Oh, I am aging myself… do they still sell Yoohoo?
(ps – it was a delicious chocolate flavored drink sold in a bottle like soda)
HURRAY!!!
I imagine he has a whole list of processed foods he wants to eat now. Enjoy :-)
That must be such a relief!
Bring on the Nutter Butters..I’m on my way! woohoo!!!
Ahem.
Peter. Pan.
It’s the only way to go.
Also? I read this way earlier (when you first posted it) and all I’ve heard in my head all afternoon is Marney and Friends singing…
“Peanuuuuut, peanut butter!”
“and jelly!”
Gah! Somebody shoot me.
No one has said it yet? Okay, I’ll do it.
“Oh NUTS!!!”
:D
Ack! I cried, I cried just now. I don’t think that’s normal, but oh well. YAY MONKEY! YAY MOM!
OH what a good day.
Congratulations Monkey!! :):):)
May your shopping trips be short and sweet now…
Woohoo!
w00t! Congrats to Monkey! (and Mom breathes a huge sigh of relief)
Yay for Monkey! That’s great news!
