You are all pretty

You people are lovely. Thank you for petting my hair and being kind even though I am a big dork. To reward you for being so nice, I thought I’d share that yesterday I actually managed a BATH. Thereby rendering myself CLEAN for the first time time since… Thursday. Why am I admitting this, I have no idea. Perhaps to say, I AM GROSS! No, wait. To say, I AM FEELING LESS DEATH-LIKE. I also ate FOOD tonight for the first time since Thursday. Woo!

Complete recovery is right around the corner. Or perhaps after another nap or twelve.

I have many thrilling things to tell you (not really, but let’s pretend). But they will have to wait! I am feverishly (get it??) working on a book review for you for tomorrow, which I agreed to do before I knew that I would be coming down with the Bubonic Plague in Boston. Funny, huh? So I am going to finish working on that, and drink some more ginger ale, and save the other stuff for another time.

Come back tomorrow for the review! And to find out if I graduated to showering!

Oooh, book review! I’m all excited.

Because I’m a dork that way.

I am on the edge of my seat, waiting to see if you make it to upright and locked self-cleanliness.

Take care, sweetie. You’ve been through a lot.

My poor Mir! I am just now reading about your sicky sick weekend. I would like to kick that virus in the balls and then give it a wedgie. Very, very bad timing. Not your fault. Stupid virus. So glad you are better, love.

So sorry to hear about your ill-timed (get it, ILL- timed…I crack me up!) virus. I know just how disappointed you must feel about not being able to finish and I totally understand your masochistic joy at still being sick thereby proving to yourself that there is no way you could possibly have finished the walk! I do the same thing to myself, especially when I’ve commited myself to something that benefits others who are in more need than myself. But believe me, you were in plenty of need during that time. Just think, you gave all those nurses, doctors, and EMT’s a chance to secure themselves a choice spot in whatever after life they believe in by selflessly being of service to someone who could not get past the red badge thing!

Seriously, though (and I only say that in case you think I was being completely serious before) I hope you feel better soon!

Would it make you fel any better if I said something really obtuse like “Hey! At least you weren’t all sick like this at Blogher!”

    No?

Okay, then I just hope you feel 100% really, really soon :)

Holy crow – just catching up with…well…you know – I am very happy to learn that you’re on the mend.

    But, um.

Well, I’m leaving for Boston tomorrow…and will be the hubs…and without the kids…so, how do I put this…delicately, I mean?

    STAY AWAY FROM ME!

    And feel better, soon.

Oh, poor Mir! I think you probably got the virus at Blogher. There was a nasty 72-hour thing going around. My husband and I came down with it the weekend before Blogher (the weekend record high temperatures were set in California).

Nothing you can do about it. I’m just happy you got help, and didn’t kill yourself trying to meet all the demands you put on yourself.

Take it easy, enjoy your kids, keep blogging, and thank goodness for Otto!

…I’m late to the party, but so sorry to hear about the walk – but glad to hear you are feeling better. Or at least less death-like. That’s a start!
